Description
We have a legal (Children Act 1989) and moral duty of care to protect all children and young adults involved in horse activities.
The BEF Safeguarding for Equestrians Workshop outlines the roles and the responsibilities that we and other BEF member organisations have in our duty of care towards young people. It includes guidelines on protecting young people and promoting good practice within the Equine Industry.
This course needs to be updated every three years. It is suitable for those wishing to join the BHS Accredited Professionals and taking the BHS Assessments.
Delegates need to be 18 years old and over or 17 years old and accompanied by another paying adult to attend. Please be aware that the course contains sensitive topics unsuitable for discussion in the presence of young children.
