BPA CONNECT & AGM, Stratford, London
We'd love it if you could join us at the BPA Autumn Patient Event — an afternoon of connection, learning, and fun.
Date: Saturday 8 November 2025
Time: 13:30 – 18:00
Location: Holiday Inn Express, Stratford, London, E15 2NE
The event will feature updates and Q&A sessions with porphyria specialists and patients, as well as a short Annual General Meeting (AGM). It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into the latest developments and ask questions in a supportive environment.
We’re also hosting a lively escape game activity! Whether you're a puzzle pro or a first timer, we’re planning a fun and memorable experience for all ages.
After the structured sessions, there will be time to chat informally with others living with porphyria, share stories, and build connections over light refreshments. This is a great chance to meet others who understand your journey, in a relaxed and friendly setting. See below for a draft agenda.
Spaces are limited to 60 attendees, so please register ASAP to secure your spot.
We’re asking for a nominal fee of £5 per person to confirm bookings — but please don’t let cost be a barrier. Fee waivers are available for you and your family if needed. We’re committed to ensuring that our events are fully accessible to all within the porphyria community, and we have a small budget to help to cover travel costs for anyone in need.
If you would like to discuss any specific access, financial or other needs, please reach out to us helpline@porphyria.org.uk or call 0300 30 200 30.
We look forward to seeing you in Stratford in November!

Things to do in Stratford
While you’re in the neighbourhood, why not see some of the local sights?
Stratford is known for being the home of the historic London 2012 Olympic Games, and its legacy can still be felt in the local attractions and facilities.
You can take a dip in the pool where Tom Daley and Rebecca Adlington won their Team GB medals at the London Aquatics Centre, book a taster experience at the iconic Olympic Velodrome where Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton took home the gold, or catch a basketball or netball game at the Copper Box Arena!
Then take a stroll through the scenic and vibrant Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, stopping off at the picturesque London Blossom Garden (which has 33 blossom trees planted for each of the 33 London boroughs) and the Tumbling Bay Playground for kids, or following the Art in the Park Trail. You can also explore the park’s wetlands and riverside meadows that are home to hundreds of different birds, waterfowl and amphibians. Then finish the day with an exhilarating ride down the ArcelorMittal Orbit 360 Helix slide – but not before enjoying the panoramic views of London landmarks at the top of the sculpture itself, which was designed for London 2012 by legendary artists Sir Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond!
There’s also a host of cultural activities on offer: get a behind-the-scenes look at objects in the V&A collection at the V&A East Storehouse, catch a show at Sadler’s Wells East theatre, or see the ground-breaking ABBA Voyage concert at the custom-built ABBA Arena before it closes in 2026! And for the little ones, the nearby Discover Children’s Story Centre offers two floors of magical Story Worlds and a Story Garden – immersive, exploratory play spaces where children and their imaginations can roam.
