Force Fields // FREDERICTON, NB
“Force Fields are like that old fixer-upper your uncle keeps under a tarp in the back shed. It may only get out for a rip around the block once every few years but when it does, the whole neighbourhood rushes to the street to watch it drive by." - Grid City Magazine
VICTIME // QUEBEC CITY, QC
VICTIME are back with En conversation avec, their second long-player to drop on October 25th, 2024 via Mothland. Offering Québec audiences a vibrant if defiant alternative amidst the province’s mid 2010s indie pop-centric music scene, the exploratory rock trio – founded in Québec City circa 2016 by Laurence Gauthier-Brown (Ponctuation, Pure Carrière), Simone Provencher (Album) and Samuel Gougoux (Corridor, Kee Avil) – quickly made waves by way of idiosyncratic releases and frenzied concerts, defending their singular alloy with verve and aplomb. Following a provincial diaspora, the band opted for a more patient approach, a more profound exploration of their credo: making noise atop intricate grooves. And so, with their first release in 5 years, the three-piece apply an even wider scope in researching sonic tensions and openings, in turn aptly amalgamating post-punk, trip-hop, avant-rock, IDM, no wave, noise rock, as well as anything and everything “good” one can hear on the internet.
