Trainer Month: Carbon Literacy Sales Masterclass

Welcome to our final event in Trainer Month! 

Throughout October we'll be gathering online for 'Trainer Tuesdays', to share best practice and top tips from experienced Carbon Literacy Trainers (CLT), Consultants (CLC) and members of The Carbon Literacy Project team. 

In the final week of October, we'll be hosting a Carbon Literacy Sales Masterclass. We will get some Top-tips and insights from CLP Co-Founder Dave Coleman, a Sales case study from Positive Planet Trainer PK Whalen and have a chance to practice some sales skills. In this session we'll be looking at the following; 

• What messages different people respond to. 
• What makes a good sales pitch.
• How to fulfil your client/ audience's needs.
• CL sales in practice.

After the event, we will compile the resources and tips shared into a handout for attendees.

This event is free of charge for certified Carbon Literacy Consultants (CLC) and Carbon Literacy Trainers (CLT)

To support the work of the Project and the Trainer Network, tickets for Carbon Literacy Facilitators (CLF), informal trainers or those interested in delivering Carbon Literacy are £10/ £15 per Trainer Month event or £30 for access to all events in this series. You'll be sent the joining link for the event, the day before the event takes place.

Meet the Speakers!👋

Dave Coleman 

Dave Coleman is Co-founder and Managing Director of The Carbon Literacy Project. Having graduated in biochemistry, Dave began his career with what is now Deloitte, and then spent twelve years working in IT including sales and management roles before becoming a director of one of the North West’s top IT companies. He then founded his own management consultancy and spent ten years marketing and selling as a management trainer and coach in the commercial sector. However, in parallel, increasingly concerned by the growing threat of climate change, he became active as a volunteer with Friends of the Earth, evolved his business into sustainability work, and then spent seven years as a trustee and director on the boards of Friends of the Earth in the UK, whilst co-founding the Carbon Literacy Project in 2009

PK Whalen

PK brings extensive experience in global learning and development, business development, and climate and sustainability. She has collaborated with diverse organisations across the EU, UK and North America, including NGOs, non-profits, government bodies, and private businesses.At Positive Planet, PK designs and delivers training for various industries, from construction to banking. Before this, she co-founded a UK non-profit providing free sustainability training to councils, non-profits like YMCA and The Prince’s Trust, and paid training to SMEs and universities.Her prior roles include Managing Director of a global executive leadership consultancy’s EU Headquarters, where she managed leadership development programs for clients such as Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC. In the US, she worked with esteemed organisations such as the esteemed Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Emory University, alongside corporate clients including Caterpillar and Medtronic. She spent seven years in Marine and Wildlife Conservation Enforcement in the US, supporting agency scientists, legislative teams, and law enforcement to protect natural resources and combat illegal wildlife activity and trafficking. She is the Co-founder and Presenter of The ECOCentrics, an environmental podcast featured by Apple Podcast on their Earth Day front page.
