The Sound of Soul - Youth Ensemble Course

The Cat and The Fiddle ensemble courses are weekly classes that run for 5–6 weeks and are open to students in grades 3–12. The tuition is $90 per student, which includes all classes in the course. For students already receiving a Karper Creatives Scholarship, tuition is fully covered.

Led by Johanna Murray, this 6 week class is open to all students/instruments who want to explore the iconic tunes of Motown. Blending Gospel, Pop, R&B, and Jazz the music of Motown is a great way to explore harmony, rhythm, and expressive performance. This ensemble will highlight vocalists with opportunities for singers to solo and practice harmony. The soulful selections from this genre will feature a variety of instruments both through background accompaniment and featured solos- all instruments welcome!
