Persou

Persou is a participatory experience in which guests will feast upon sights, sounds, and tastes as they are transported to an ancient ceremony worshipping the Goddess Persefoni at the Temple of Aphrodite in Paphos, Cyprus. As audiences help us welcome the rebirth of Spring, and participate in the goddess Demeter’s sneaky plot to eradicate Winter forever, you will be free to inhabit the temple as you join your fellow pilgrims seeking communion. Live music, bitesize snacks, and a vivid dream-like surrounding will transport the audience to another realm. Accessibility accommodations will be available upon request for guests who are unable to walk or stand for the duration of the performance.

Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre has a sweeping front window and a fully retractable back wall that will remain open throughout the performance to allow for airflow, social distancing, and an indoor-outdoor experience. In addition, the cell has been equipped with a new air filtration system. Audience sizes will be limited to 20 people per performance, everyone will be required to wear masks and provide information for contact tracing, and will be subject to temperature checks at the door. All safety precautions will be overseen by an OSHA certified Production Infection Control agent.

• Guests are required to wear masks at all times while indoors, and temperatures will be taken before the start of the performance.

• The sweeping front windows, and fully retractable back wall will be open for the duration of the show. The backyard will also be used for the performance.

• Performers are fully vaccinated and/or rigorously tested daily.

• Some actors will be mask-less during the performance.

• Face shields will be supplied to all audience members who desire an extra layer of protection.

• Contact tracing form, and COVID symptom screening must be completed before entering. A QR code at the door will be supplied for those who have not completed the form beforehand. Please allow enough time.

• All high touch surfaces are sterilized daily.

• Audience sizes are kept to 33% occupancy as required by NY State regulations.

• the cell has been equipped with a new air filtration system.
