Rossano Sportiello is one of the leading pianists on New York City’s jazz scene. Born in Vivegano, Italy, he began studying piano at the age of nine. He transitioned to jazz at a young age, and by the time he was sixteen he was performing professionally at jazz venues in the Milan area. 

Rossano, who plays with a relaxed swing, is considered one of the finest “Harlem” stride pianists in the world. The influence of the master jazz pianists, Fats Waller, Teddy Wilson, Art Tatum, Count Basie, Earl Hines and Bill Evans can be heard in his playing. He has performed with many of the world’s finest jazz luminaries and has appeared at well-known New York City venues such as Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, Birdland, Feinstein’s, Carnegie Hall, the Café Caryle, Smalls and Mezzrow. He has performed in more than twenty countries and at acclaimed festivals around the world.
