Immersive Community Meetup

Join us for a quarterly meetup of immersive theatre makers and community members. We will be hearing a presentation from Patchwork Adventures, who will be in the midst of their residence at the cell, creating a Culinary Escape Game called The Order of the Golden Scribe: Initiation Tea. Come get in touch with all the wonderful designers, performers, venue operators and creators who keep this vibrant industry thrumming! There will be a bar by donation as well.

Nancy Manocherian’s the cell theatre began its foray into immersive theatre in 2019 with Found by filling our five story townhouse with kinetic sculptures, performers and hundreds of dolls. We continued to work in this genre through the pandemic with Garden of Eden, a New Orleans-style backwoods wandering through the world of tarot and Persou by One Whales Tale, an environmental journey to the island of Cyprus and its myths. This Fall we are highly anticipating an immersive retelling of Bluebeard’s Bride by artist-in-residence Suzanne Karpinski through game mechanics and circus arts. The cell is a not-for-profit dedicated to the incubation and presentation of new work across all artistic disciplines that mine the mind, pierce and awaken the soul.
