2025 Plymouth Breakwater Swim in aid of the Chestnut Appeal

The Plymouth Breakwater Swim in aid of The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health is back.

Thanks to the King’s Harbourmaster, who grant us safe use of the sound for this event, we can offer this unique opportunity to swim from the Plymouth Breakwater into iconic Tinside. Normally bustling with water traffic, the Sound will be temporarily closed to vessels so that swimmers can take part in the challenge in this stunning location – all while raising money for a good cause!

You’ll register and then board the boat ‘The Plymouth Sound’ at Commercial Wharf, The Barbican PL1 2NX. The trip to the eastern end of the Breakwater takes around 20 minutes, so you’ve got plenty of time to listen to your safety briefing and get warmed up.

You’ll then alight the boat, and follow the swim route along the coastline at Jennycliff Bay, past Mount Batten pier and then make your way over to Tinside Beach, a longer than before distance of 3.8-4km.

We ask that swimmers set themselves a minimum fundraising target of £75, as the cost of your entry ticket only helps us cover the costs of the safety crew, its the funds you raise that will make a difference.
