Race Across The Pride #2

Following the success of our Race Across the Pride event, we are back by popular demand!

Location and Timings

We will be starting and ending the race at a location TBC, however this will be in Sheffield City Centre!

Please head to the venue at 13:00 to sign in. There will be a talk from the charity team, and the race will commence at 13:30.

All of your team members have to be back at our starting location for 16:00, otherwise you will be docked points!

Here you will receive a welcome drink, the winner will be announced, and networking will commence! There will be light food provided from around 17:00, which all forms part of your entry fee (when purchasing a race ticket) 😊

If you cannot make the day but would like to come for the evening networking (from 16:30), we have added ‘networking only’ tickets at £10. This will include a welcome drink and light food.

How it all works

The aim is to collect as many points as possible, each lion on the trail will have a certain number of points attributed to it. Those in highly populated lion areas will be lower points, and those further out of Sheffield and in lower populated lion areas will be worth higher points.

Choose your strategy: will you go for a lot of lower point lions, fewer higher point lions, or a combination of the two?

When you arrive at our staring location, you will receive a welcome pack including the points assigned to each lion, score cards so you can keep track of your points, and details of how you evidence your points (we wouldn’t want to give this away too early now, would we 😉)

There will also be 'wildcard' lions included on the race. These will not have points allocated given to them, instead you will be greeted by a charity representative with a pack of ‘Race Across the Pride’ cards. These cards will grant you a reward, (this could be anything from gaining bonus points or even doubling your points) however some of them will include a forfeit – Will you take the risk?

We would recommend each member of your team downloads the virtual Pride of Yorkshire trail map, which can be done via the following steps:

📱Head to trail.prideofyorkshire.org using a mobile device to load up the map and start collecting (add this to your home screen, for easy lion hunting access – ensure your location settings are turned on.
