Young Clockmakers: Single Train Teardown
Discover the world of heritage clockmaking with this hands-on workshop focused on mechanical pendulum clocks. We'll be assembling a simple spring-wound striking clock and then disassembling a traditional English dial in the workshop, led by practising clockmaker Alex and Clockworks curator Kirsten.
Afterwards, watch the clocks in action in the main gallery, or take our pendulum quiz. Will you find all the items you need to win a badge?
This workshop is part of our summer holiday series, tracing the history of timekeeping from water clocks to quartz movements.
