This is a 1.5 hr practical singing session, learning songs, warm ups and music activities you can do with any choir, but particularly suited to children's and youth choirs. The material can work online as well as offline. Great for primary and secondary school choirs as well as upper voices and mixed community choirs. 

If you are looking for new ideas for your choir, then this session is for you!

10:00am Practical material for primary age/upper voice choirs

10:30am Practical material for secondary age/mixed voice choirs

11:20am Breakout rooms exploring more songs suggestions and repertoire for either primary or secondary aged choirs. 

11:20am Q&A and wrap up. 

Scottish singer, animateur, choir leader, and Kodály teacher Aimee Toshney  has been leading choirs since 2003, amassing a wealth of experience and a particular facility with youth and community choirs. Currently she is the director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus Academy, the National Youth Choir of Scotland Angus Regional Choir, and the RSNO Dundee Workplace Choir. She is also a staff member at the RSNO Junior Chorus, the Glasgow Children's Music School, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior Conservatoire. Other experience includes BBC Proms in the Park, coaching the National Girls Choir of Scotland, presenting for the Scottish Association for Music Education's annual conference, and award-winning annual projects for the Leeds Lieder festival, where she has introduced over a thousand primary-aged children to classical music! Most recently she has been leading The Wee Summer Sing online to keep kids singing at home through lockdown.

Abi Moore is an in-demand harmony singing workshop leader and acapella arranger. She spent 8 years as a Sing Up Leader teaching children and training staff in primary and secondary schools how to sing with confidence, and has led many youth choirs. She regularly mentors young singers and musicians and was recently a judge and mentor at the Voice Festival UK, working with university acapella groups. She is currently Musical Director for Lincolnshire acapella choir Totally Vocally and leads the Nottingham Voice Collective. Visit www.abimoore.com for more info
 
Beth Morgan has been working as a secondary music educator for 26 years, including leading school choirs. During 2010-2014, her school choir performed at Choir of the Year, Manchester Choir Competition and twice at Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod. For 6 years, Beth led the junior choir at St John the Baptist Church Frenchay, developing a traditional robed chorister programme within the heart of East Bristol and South Gloucestershire, following the RSCM Voice for Life Programme.
