Common Space by Creature Space is a performance series that supports New York City–based emerging artists in the development, production, and presentation of new and in-progress work.

Tonight's performance is presented as a Solo Space, an evening dedicated to a single dance-focused artist or collective, offering the opportunity to present a longer-form or more fully realized work (30-60 minutes). This opportunity also comes with up to 20 hours of free rehearsal space at Creature Space. We define dance-focused to include movement-based practices of all kinds, from choreography to experimental and interdisciplinary performance where physicality is central.

Lou will present NEW VOICES, a solo performance exploring gender, technology, and the trans experience through physical theater, gesture, and voice. Blending characters from the 1939 World's Fair to Amazon's Alexa, the work asks what our changing relationships with technology—and our own voices—can reveal about identity. Gesture Theater will appear interspersed throughout this solo show.

Run time TBD.

The venue is located at street level and is fully wheelchair accessible. If you have any questions about accessibility or would like to request accommodations, please contact us at thespace@creaturespace.nyc before the event.
