The Crucible (WPT) 2026

The Waterloo-Pinckney Crucible will be held on April 18, 2026! This event is a 22-mile self-supported endurance hike along the Waterloo-Pinckney Trail. Hikers will begin and end at Portage Lake (42.3327440, -84.2376780) 11700 Seymour Rd. Grass Lake, MI 49249, and will have 12 hours to complete the route (8am-8pm). Aid stations will be at four-to-six-mile intervals where Crucible Staff will be posted with logbooks. Hikers will receive a T-shirt during registration and a patch if the route is completed in the 12-hour time frame. This year our donation will be used to improve the Waterloo Recreation Area Trail markings and with the DNRs blessing, we will be adding permanent Crucible Trail markers also. Extra proceeds will go to trail improvements and erosion management.
