The 2026 JVP Crucible is a 20 mile self-supported endurance hike along the Jordan Valley Pathway. Hikers will begin and end at The Crucible Village (7239 Turner Rd. Elmira, MI 49730). Water will not be supplied for the hike so either plan on carrying all of your water or bring a water filter. Camping for participants will be free for Friday and Saturday night, all others will be $20. Tickets are $80 and are nonrefundable and nontransferable. The First Flight will leave at 8:00 A.M. with successive flights leaving every 5 to 10 minutes.
The Jordan Valley Pathway Crucible Endurance Hike is a fully self-supported event. Participants are responsible for carrying and managing everything they need to safely complete the hike, including food, water, navigation, and required gear.
This is not a casual walk through a city park. The route traverses remote and rugged terrain, often far from services or immediate assistance. The physical and mental demands of this hike should not be underestimated.
Proper preparation is essential. Participants should train in advance, become familiar with their equipment, and honestly assess their fitness and experience level before attempting the challenge. Success on the Jordan Valley Pathway depends on preparation, self-reliance, and good judgment.
