An Introduction to Herbal Witchcraft

Sat 25 Jul 2026 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM Index (Inside Chapter), NP20 1FW

Join The Curious Naturalist for a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop exploring the magical, folkloric and symbolic uses of herbs.

This workshop steps away from herbal medicine and into the world of plant lore, protection charms, Welsh folk magic and intention-based practice. Led by Dr Amy Wyatt, the session is designed for anyone curious about witchcraft, paganism, folklore, local plants and the ways people have used herbs not only for medicine, but for meaning, ritual and protection.

Together, we will explore the traditional uses of herbs in folk practices, the symbolism attached to different plants and how these meanings have been passed down through folklore, seasonal customs and everyday ritual. We will also look at how herbal knowledge connects to witchcraft and pagan traditions, with a focus on Wales, local landscapes and the magic people have long found in the natural world.

During the workshop, you will be introduced to herbs traditionally associated with protection, cleansing, courage, luck, love and grounding. You will learn how to choose herbs with intention, how to work with plant symbolism in your own practice and how to approach herbal witchcraft in a thoughtful, respectful and grounded way.

You will then make your own protection spell jar to label and take home, using a selection of herbs, salts and natural materials chosen for their traditional protective associations.

This workshop is for curious beginners, plant lovers, folklore enthusiasts, nature lovers and anyone who wants to explore the magical side of herbs in a welcoming and down-to-earth space. No prior experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
