When: July 26th. 9PM GMT +1 / 4PM EST / 1PM PST

What: Virtual variety show to showcase queer disabled performers safely from home. We want to provide a time to dip into the whimsical safely from home. We want to prioritise the most marginalised performers who are gatekept from performing because of ableism. This event will be MC’d by drag artist Ignacio Daddy!

The rest of the performers will be announced two weeks before the event starts. Interested in performing? Submissions are open until July 5th. Registration for performers.

The event format will be as follows:

  • Introduction to space
  • 3 performers: 30 minutes
  • 10 minute break
  • 3 performers: 30 minutes
  • Intermission: 15 minutes
  • 3 performers: 30 minutes
  • Closing off

Accessibility:

  • Captions during call and with any videos shown.
  • Transcript available on call for captions
  • Transcripts provided for each performance in advance when possible.
  • Come as you are! Use whatever you need to make yourself comfortable during the call. Wear your heating pad, ice packs, migraine shades, splints! No matter how you show up we welcome you to the space.
  • Any images shared will be described (if you need help with alt text ask the facilitator). Performers will give image descriptions of themselves and the work.
  • Cameras will remain steady to prevent motion sickness.
  • Scheduled breaks included in the format of event but we encourage you to take whatever breaks you need.

Due to the nature of virtual events being attended by many different language speakers we do not regularly have a sign-language interpreter, but if given enough notice in advance we can try see if we can work something out.

If there’s anything else we can do for making these spaces accessible feel free to contact us.
