"“The Dublin Story Slam was the right mix of good craic, support and human connection, that gave me the gumption to jump up to tell a story one night. It was such a thrill to do and I came away from it buzzing and feeling so fulfilled.”
- Michelle Luck(Story Slam Champion)
Following on from our storytelling workshop, this event will showcase a selection of personal true stories from community champions of the NEIC. Inspired by the theme, Neighbourhood, we'll hear true stories of people coming together to help each other out, of working together towards a shared goal or trying to overcome a shared problem. We'll also invite participants of the storytelling workshop to share their own Neighbourhood inspired story. Hosted by StorSlam host, Comedian Sharon Mannion, join us for a cup of tea, a tasty treat and an afternoon of funny but sincere stories that celebrate the heart and soul of your local community.
Who are The Dublin Story Slam?
Hosted by Comedians Colm O'Regan and Sharon Mannion, The Dublin Story Slam has been helping all kinds of Dubliners share their personal true stories for the last 9 years. Whether it's open mic storytelling nights at the Sugar Club, Civic Theatre and Pavilion Theatre or our Grand Slam Storytelling event at The Abbey, we share stories that bring people together. Funded by Dublin City Council and Net Zero Cities, City Stories is a new community storytelling programme that uses personal stories to bring audiences together and share practical but powerful skills, as we strive towards the goals set out in Climate Neutral Dublin 2030.
