Future Council - Family/Youth Free Screening and Event

Sun 22 Nov 2026 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Brockwell Hall, SE24 0PA

Join our free family screening of the brilliant film Future Council followed by an interactive session between young people in the audience and local leaders and businesses.

The film, from director Damon Gameau, takes eight kids on the ultimate school trip: an epic adventure across Europe to challenge powerful leaders and find solutions to some of the world's greatest environmental problems. Their inspiring and rollicking journey, from forests to boardrooms, results in the kids forming a ‘Future Council’ to advise and influence the world's most powerful companies. It is a coming-of-age journey that dares to imagine a brighter future.

The screening will be followed by a conversation between kids in the audience and local businesses and leaders - what is already happening locally? What would including young people's voices more in local decision making look like? And what can we do right now to create a positive future for today's children - the pensioners of 2100?

Age guidance: the film is 81mins long and is most suited to ages 8+. Parents and carers know their children best though, so please use your judgement.

Refreshments: Tea, coffee, juice and biscuits will be available after the film. Please come having eaten lunch!

Directions: Brockwell Hall is the large house at the centre of Brockwell Park. There are paths directly up the hill to the Hall from the park gates on Dulwich Road and Norwood Road. Entrance to the screening is from the courtyard at the back of the building.
