For the final Live Show of the year we will be returning, once again, to the wonderful Hoxton Square, London N1 office of our good friends Aviva Investors.

In a great way to end an autumn Friday afternoon we will hear from a panel of experts from Aviva Investors and other businesses as they get to grips with the highly topical energy market looking at the renewable space, how the UK gets anywhere near to energy security and what impact this all has on carbon reduction.

Every business is affected by energy prices and availability so this is one not to be missed as our experts help us to navigate a complex market and to understand how we can review our energy mix even when it appears we have little or no control over it.

Our Panel Speakers:

Darryl Murphy is Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure, Private Markets at Aviva Investors, responsible for infrastructure transactions for the infrastructure debt and equity strategies. Darryl is responsible for a portfolio of around £15bn of investments across the UK and Europe. Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Darryl was a partner at KPMG in the Global Infrastructure Advisory practice. He has over 30 years’ experience in infrastructure financing and investment having also worked at Hambros, SG, Newcourt Capital, RBC and was head of European Project Finance at HSBC. He has structured, advised and arranged on a wide number of projects globally. Darryl holds a PhD in Mathematics from Exeter University. He is the UK Council Chair of the International Project Finance Association.

Jas Kandola is CEO of Eqonic Group, a UK battery technology company working to advance more sustainable and resilient approaches to energy storage. Drawing on a background in corporate finance, Jas focuses on the commercialisation of next generation battery technologies and the wider challenges facing the sector, from critical-material dependency and supply-  chain resilience to safety and energy security. He is particularly interested in how innovation in battery technologies can reduce environmental and geopolitical dependencies while helping build a stronger, more sustainable UK energy-storage ecosystem.

Mark Chipol is the Founder and Managing Director of Eden Utilities, an independent energy consultancy he established in 2015.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the energy industry, Mark advises businesses on energy procurement, market strategy, renewables and reducing both cost and consumption. His experience gives him a practical perspective on the changing energy landscape and the challenge businesses face in balancing cost, risk and sustainability ambitions.

Mark is also a Board Trustee of the Crawley Town Community Foundation and a strong advocate for collaboration within the wider business community. Eden Utilities is a founder member of the Environmental Business Network, reflecting Mark’s belief that meaningful environmental progress and good commercial decision-making can, and should, go hand in hand.

Zahan Bharucha is a sustainability strategist, activist and storyteller on a mission to disrupt the relationship between business, people and planet. Zahan brings together corporate action and climate activism through two roles: Creative and Innovation Lead for EY Global Sustainability, and AI and Strategic Programs Lead for the Youth Climate Collaborative.

Claire Reid is from SNRG and passionate about creating a healthier, more sustainable future, Claire works with organisations to explore how innovative energy solutions can make a meaningful difference to communities, businesses and the environment.

As Director of Energy Strategy and Partnerships, she focuses on the potential of microgrids and renewable energy technologies to help residential and commercial organisations transition away from fossil fuels. She is particularly interested in how cleaner energy can strengthen resilience to global events, improve energy security and create healthier more affordable places to live, learn and work.

Her commitment to sustainability extends beyond her professional life. With a personal appreciation for nature and biodiversity, she is passionate about understanding and championing the many ways the natural world enriches our lives, supports our wellbeing and sustains the world around us. She believes that a truly sustainable future must embrace both the transition to cleaner energy and the protection and restoration of nature, recognising that the health of people and the health of our planet are inseparable.

Through collaboration, strategic partnerships and a shared commitment to positive change, she hopes to help inspire a future in which businesses, communities and nature can all thrive together.
