ASK QUESTIONS! THINK AGAIN!
Join author Joan Lennon in celebrating her fabulous and fascinating new book, REVOLUTION!, with an event in which she talks about the challenges and joys of writing non-fiction for young people.
The co-author of TALKING HISTORY and GREAT MINDS (with Joan Haig), Joan Lennon loves finding the best ways to convey important information to young people. ‘Don’t underestimate them,’ she says. ‘Trust your readers! We’re telling stories – true stories – and our job is to capture their imaginations. Tell the stories of how change happens and show them that “It’s just how things are” doesn’t have to be the last word. Get your readers to ask questions – think again – and they could be part of a revolution too!’
Joan worked with illustrator, Teo Georgiev and the brilliant team at Bonnier, led by editor Rachael Roberts, to create a book which will raise questions and change minds. Making any book is a complex, demanding business, and with 20 years of being a published author, Joan is perfectly placed to provide fascinating and entertaining insights into the process.
This event is free and open to all ages, so come along and enjoy the evening. And of course, Joan will be delighted to sign copies of her shiny new book.
About the book:
What does it take to change the world?
Sometimes it’s toppling systems and finding new ways to govern that give people a better chance.
Sometimes it’s challenging long-held beliefs and finding the courage to think differently.
Sometimes it’s coming up with ingenious inventions that transform our everyday lives.
The world we know today has been shaped by exceptional events, ideas and inventions. Revolution! tells the stories of ordinary people who made the extraordinary happen.
