Description
Leading and facilitating groups - Gestalt and Body Psychotherapy concepts in action
A CPD workshop for practitioners.
We will focus on ways of working relationally in a group setting by learning about and utilising key concepts from embodied and relational Body Psychotherapy and contemporary Gestalt Therapy. In doing this we will be exploring spectrums of identification and differences as they arise as part of the group dynamics.
We will learn about and use phenomenological inquiry, including how both Gestalt and Body Psychotherapy approach and work with habits of somatising and psychologising as ways of avoiding contact (in group settings). We will work with sub-groupings and emergent awareness from this, exploring our embodiment / resistance to embodiment we will discover our core spontaneity.
This work is about acceptance, yielding, experimenting, and exploring processes arising in the here and now – we will be experiencing ourselves as an aspect of a larger whole. This can link to understanding ourselves and our work in context of the wider eco-systemic, through embodied dialogue.
