Family systems and Transactional Analysis

2 Day Training

Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th of June 2023

Enid Welford is a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (psychotherapy) and a member of the ITAA and the United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis. She worked in a criminal justice agency with mentally disordered offenders, where she encountered highly disturbed family systems. Enid gives training and runs workshops in family constellations and incorporates the approach into her therapy and supervision practice. She is a peripatetic trainer and has a supervision and psychotherapy practice in Manchester, England.

The focus of this workshop is the interface between TA and Family Constellations, and the way that embracing both can enhance clinical work.

The workshop will be theoretical and experiential, and participants will have opportunity to bring personal issues to apply to this approach.

Content includes:

  • Berne’s teaching on groups and how this applies to all systems.
  • Transgenerational trauma and the Hot Potato theory.
  • Impasses – personal and intergenerational
  • The Parent Interview.
  • Philosophy and principles of systemic work.
  • Methods appropriate to resolving intergenerational trauma in individual therapy.
