The Deeper Exhale: Hawthorn and the Threshold of the Heart

Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm UK

Price: £37  or included in Tier 3 The Exhale Library

Format: Online via Zoom

There is a tree the old Irish would plough around when they cleared their fields.

They didn't cut her down. They shaped their work around her presence, even when it would have been easier not to. She grew at the edge of the field, at the boundary between one world and the next, and that made her untouchable.

She is the Hawthorn. The threshold keeper. The May tree. The guardian of the in-between.

This May, The Deeper Exhale gathers beneath her branches.

What this gathering holds

This is a 3-hour online breathwork mini retreat, held via Zoom. It is unhurried throughout. There is nothing to perform and nowhere you need to get to.

The evening weaves together:

  • Celtic tree teachings - Hawthorn's botanical roots, her mythology and medicine
  • Guided conscious breathwork - the central practice of the evening, spacious and consent-led
  • Reflective journaling prompts drawn from Hawthorn's wisdom
  • A closing integration space for rest and gentle sharing

Hawthorn's medicine

Hawthorn holds both thorns and blossoms on the same branch, and she is not confused by this. Her beauty and her protection are not in opposition. They are the same thing, seen from different angles.

Her medicine is not about abandoning protection. It is about learning the difference between the wall built to survive and the shelter truly needed.

If you have been standing at a threshold - in your heart, in your life, in some quiet in-between you haven't yet been able to name - Hawthorn is the medicine for this season.

What to bring

Yourself, as you are. Comfortable clothes. A blanket if you'd like one. A journal. Something warm to drink. No preparation is required.
