Discovering What Behavioural Games Reveal About Teams with BlueSky Learning

Wed 11 Nov 2026 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM GMT Online, Zoom

What if the best way to understand how a team really works isn't to ask questions, but to give them a challenge and watch what happens?

We've all experienced learning games that are little more than quizzes dressed up with colourful graphics, points and leaderboards.

They test what people know.

But do they reveal what people actually do?

What happens when time is running out, your success depends on someone else, and your carefully rehearsed ideas about teamwork suddenly meet reality?

In this Facilitator's Café gathering, we'll be joined by BlueSky Learning for a live, hands-on experience of Mazes, a multiplayer behavioural game that puts collaboration, trust and ownership to the test.

You'll work in small teams, navigating increasingly challenging mazes where completing your own task isn't enough. Your success depends on helping others succeed too.

And that's where things get interesting.

Because the real learning doesn't come from winning the game.

It comes from discovering what happened along the way.

After playing, we'll explore the team's behavioural reports, uncover patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed, and consider how facilitators can turn these insights into more meaningful conversations about how teams really work.

This isn't a demonstration. You'll be playing, competing, collaborating and reflecting together.

What you'll experience

  • Play Mazes live: Join a small team and tackle a series of increasingly challenging multiplayer mazes.
  • Put collaboration to the test: Discover what happens when individual success depends on collective effort.
  • Explore real behaviours: Use team reports to uncover patterns of trust, ownership and collaboration.
  • Experience a different kind of debrief: Move beyond asking how people felt to exploring what actually happened and why.
  • Take away fresh ideas: Consider how behavioural games could help you create deeper learning and more revealing conversations in your own facilitation.

What you need

  • A laptop or desktop to join the Café and participate in breakout conversations.
  • A smartphone to play the game. No downloads or accounts required.
  • Curiosity, a willingness to experiment and perhaps a little competitive spirit!

No preparation required.

Who's it for?

Facilitators, coaches, team leaders and anyone who designs or leads workshops, meetings and team development experiences.

Whether you already use games in your facilitation or are sceptical about their value, this is an opportunity to experience how play can reveal behaviours that ordinary discussions might never uncover.

About BlueSky Learning

BlueSky Learning brings behavioural games into learning and team development, creating opportunities for participants to experience how they collaborate, communicate and respond to challenges.

Through games such as Mazes, teams can explore the gap between what they believe about their behaviour and what actually happens when they work together. The experience is supported by behavioural reports that help facilitators turn gameplay into meaningful reflection and learning.

Why join this Café?

Because teams are often very good at talking about collaboration.

But what happens when they actually have to collaborate?

Come and play. You might discover something surprising about yourself, your team and the power of a well-facilitated debrief.
