Infant Feeding Consultation | Breastfeeding & Bottle Feeding Support
Something doesn't feel right with feeding. Let's get to the bottom of it — together.
Feeding your baby should feel manageable. But when it's painful, confusing, exhausting or just not working the way you expected, it can affect everything — your confidence, your wellbeing, and your bond with your baby.
This is not a generic advice session. This is a full, personalised feeding assessment with a qualified breastfeeding consultant and maternity nurse — designed to truly understand what's happening for you and your baby, and give you a clear, realistic plan to move forward.
Whether you're breastfeeding, bottle feeding, combination feeding or not yet sure what's going wrong — this session will help you find answers.
Who is this session for?
This infant feeding consultation is ideal if:
- Feeding feels painful, difficult or confusing and you don't know why
- Your baby is unsettled, fussy or not feeding the way you'd expect
- You're worried about your milk supply or whether your baby is getting enough
- You're struggling with latch, positioning or comfort during feeds
- Your baby is refusing the breast or the bottle
- Feeding is starting to affect your confidence or your emotional wellbeing
- You just have a feeling that something isn't quite right — even if you can't put your finger on it
What happens in your session?
This is a full feeding assessment — not just a list of tips.
We take the time to look at the bigger picture as well as what's actually happening during feeds, exploring:
- Your feeding history and current concerns
- Your baby's behaviour, cues and feeding patterns
- Positioning, latch and feeding technique
- Milk supply and transfer
- Bottle feeding approach where relevant
- Any underlying causes or contributing factors
- An oral assessment of your baby if you'd like one
From this, we build a clear, personalised feeding plan that feels achievable and supportive — not overwhelming.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which consultation to choose? If feeding feels significantly difficult, painful or you're worried about your baby's weight or intake, the home visit or online consultation gives you the most thorough, comprehensive support. If you have a specific question or concern that needs a focused conversation, the phone call is a great starting point.
What is a feeding assessment? A feeding assessment goes beyond general advice. It involves looking at your full feeding history, observing how your baby feeds, assessing positioning and latch, and exploring any underlying factors that might be contributing to difficulties. You'll leave with a written plan tailored specifically to you and your baby.
Can you help if I'm not sure whether to breastfeed or bottle feed? Absolutely. This session supports all feeding choices and is completely judgement free. Whether you're committed to breastfeeding, considering switching to formula, or somewhere in between — this is a safe space to explore what's right for you.
What is an oral assessment? An oral assessment involves gently checking your baby's mouth for any factors — such as tongue tie — that might be contributing to feeding difficulties. This is completely optional and will be discussed with you during the session.
What if I'm worried about my milk supply? Supply concerns are one of the most common reasons parents book a feeding consultation. We'll look at the full picture — feeds, output, baby's behaviour and growth — to give you a clear, honest and reassuring answer.
How soon after birth can I book? As soon as you need support. There is no minimum age — if feeding feels difficult on day two or day twenty, this session is for you.
What does the follow up call include? The follow up call takes place 2—3 days after your consultation to check how things are going, answer any new questions and make sure your plan is working for you. It's included in both the home visit and online packages.
Is the WhatsApp support included in all packages? The 2 weeks WhatsApp support is included in the home visit and online packages. The phone call package is designed for more focused, single session support.
Do you offer home visits outside your local area? Home visits are available within my local area. If you're unsure whether you're covered, get in touch before booking and I'll let you know. The online consultation is available to anyone in the UK.
