The Forgotten Her Story: Manuela Wirth in Conversation with Celia Pym & Catherine Goodman
Launched by Hauser & Wirth co-founder Manuela Wirth, The Forgotten Her Story began as an online platform dedicated to celebrating women whose creativity, skill and generosity have shaped our world, often quietly and without the recognition they deserve. Through conversations with artists, makers, writers, dancers, collectors and many others, the platform honours lives devoted to making, caring and creating.
Now, for the first time, these stories are brought together in book form. The publication introduces nine extraordinary women, including celebrated cookery writer Anna Del Conte, textile artist and “damage detective” Celia Pym, and ballet dancer Haydeh Changizian, one of Iran’s first and only prima ballerinas. Their stories are told through intimate conversations with the women themselves and those closest to them, alongside photographs, archival material and personal mementos that offer a glimpse into their lives, work and enduring legacy.
Join Manuela Wirth, together with artists Celia Pym and Catherine Goodman, for a conversation about the women featured in the book, the importance of preserving their stories, and why creativity, craftsmanship and the handmade continue to matter today.
The talk will be followed by an opportunity to purchase the book and have it signed.
