Buzzing a Decentralized Murmur
Buzzing a Decentralized Murmur
Need help?
This
feels like a time for collective wisdom. What if we get hyperlocal
and discover, together, what collective wisdom lives within us? What
is dormant within us because we don’t give it time and attention?
What could emerge if we sat together and gave it a minute?
Come
sit in the woods with me and other curious folks this late Spring.
Buzzing a Decentralized Murmur
through
Work
That Reconnects
May
14, 21, 28 & June 4, 11, 18
Every
Wednesday Evening for 6 weeks
from
6:30
– 8:00 p.m.
in the Woods at Mullet Hall, Cold Spring, NY
We
will meet once a week for six
weeks to learn and practice the spiral of Work That Reconnects. If you're feeling sheepish but curious - this is for you. There is no experience necessary to participate. If you're interested you just have to show up and be willing to participate in group discussion (when you're comfortable to do so). There will be tea, trees, fireflies, kind humans and music.
The
Work That Reconnects is good medicine and we can’t do it alone!
We’d love to have you here. As Bayo Akomolafe said: “Modernity is
exhausted, let’s meet in the playfulness of uncertainty. Let’s
gesture at the poetry of the impossible.” He asks the question " Could we be a decentralized murmur that disrupts collapse?"
What is this Work That Reconnects?
Work that reconnects is a body of work that helps:
- Remember our mutual belonging to the Earth and to each other
- Foster emotional resilience in these times
- Dwell in the healing power of community
- Become unafraid of our pain for the world
- Open to awe, wonder and gratitude for being alive
- Replace stories of separation with stories of Interbeing
- Understand that we have an ecological identity
- Remember that we are in collaboration with the more than human world: the plants, the animals, the fungi, the air, the water, the fire, the soil...
- Root in gratitude, honor pain for the world, see with new and ancient eyes, and allow for going forth more rooted than before you began
This may all sound intense, but somehow getting together with other people and directing one's attention to the above mentioned list, lightens the load. I find myself moving through the world with more inner peace and gratitude for being alive at this moment in history when I get to practice Work That Reconnects.
It's hard to describe all that Work That Reconnects encompasses. If you want more clarity or have questions before you sign up please email erin@thefiguregroundstudio.com. I'm happy to connect!
There are three ticket options. Pay what works for you. If money is an obstacle to participation please reach out. We would like this to be accessible to anyone who would like to participate. Incremental payment is also an option. Please email erin@thefiguregroundstudio.com for payment options.
Testimonials from past participants:
"Erin
radiates open-heartedness and a lightness of spirit that is
essential to this work. She is inclusive, endlessly curious and quick
to make connections. She's also silly and funny, which puts you at
ease. Her enthusiasm is contagious and I felt that all in our group
felt safe to express themselves and the ideas, beliefs, experiences
and depth of emotion that often go unspoken. It was a holding and
inspirational space. As a result of my experience with this group,
the light that has been burning within me is now brighter, having
been fed by the light of others. I am filled with enthusiasm."
~Lauren
"Erin was an incredible facilitator, and inspired me
not just on the days we met, but also to carry a newfound sense of
responsibility, urgency, and hope forward in most everything I do. I
am deeply grateful."
