Do you have clothing ideas pinned on Pinterest, scribbled in notebooks, or swimming around in your head, but the one thing you’re missing is the sewing pattern?
Then this workshop is for you.
During the workshop, Sarah from The Sewing Retreat will show you:
✂️ The tools you need to start drafting and how to use them
✂️ How to use pattern blocks as templates to create your own sewing patterns
✂️ How to manipulate darts so they work for your design, rather than getting in the way
✂️ How to add seam allowances, hem allowances and pattern annotations
✂️ How to take a simple top design from image to finished pattern
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a completed pattern, a solid understanding of the drafting process, and the confidence to start creating and adapting your own clothing ideas.
You’ll also receive Sarah’s printable bodice and sleeve pattern blocks, so you can continue drafting long after the workshop has finished.
Class requirements: You’ve sewn at least a few shop-bought sewing patterns before and are familiar with basic sewing terminology. Any experience beyond that is a bonus.
Your tutor: Sarah from The Sewing Retreat runs lots of online sewing and pattern cutting courses. She has a mission to help home sewers discover their unique style and design intentionally for it.
