This is a dressmaking workshop for those of you who wish to improve upon your skills.

It has been designed to up-skill makers with all the skills they need to make, beautiful, professional, well lasting clothes. We will cover a range of tricky skills enabling you to feel much more confident when you're tackling your sewing projects from home.

Waistbands

  • All materials provided. You will not complete a garment in this workshop but you will practice these techniques and be able to apply them in your future dressmaking.  
  • Tea and coffee provided. Please bring some lunch or treat yourself to a shop/bakery in town. 
  • Please be aware: This is a non-refundable ticket. If you give us enough time we will try hard to find someone to take your place but we can't promise that will be possible. This course will only run if enough tickets sell.

Your tutor will be the wonderful Jamilla Ives. 

Jamilla Ives  is Fashion and Textiles Educator based in Stroud; specialising in garment making and pattern cutting.

Jamilla is a lead sewing tutor at Made My Wardrobe in Bristol and Curriculum Co-ordinator for Textiles at The King’s Foundation in Tetbury, where she coordinates The CHANEL & The King’s Foundation Métiers d’art Fellowship in Partnerships with le19M.Having previously taught on the Fashion Design BA programme at the University of Gloucestershire, she has been teaching students to sew for the last 10 years.Her creative practice is focused around designing through making, respecting the craftsmanship of making things well, and encouraging others to make and create beautiful things.
