Darning: the art of repair
Learn how to repair worn or torn fabric using a traditional weave-based darning technique. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore how to rebuild cloth by interlacing threads, creating strong and functional repairs that also have the potential to be decorative.
You’ll be guided through setting up a woven structure directly over the worn area. This method is ideal for mending holes in knitwear, and woven fabrics, and it encourages a mindful, sustainable approach to caring for textiles. Practical, empowering skills for a visible mend.
No prior experience is required. All materials will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring a knitted garment in need of a small amount of repair.
