In Your Own Words: Life lessons for the ones you love - Course of 3 creative writing workshops
Join us in the calm of our studio space for a three part writing workshop with Beverley Glick
Three 1.5 hour workshops £180 per person - Wednesday 16th Sept / 30th Sept / 14th Oct 7.00pm - 8.30pm
In Your Own Words: Life lessons for the ones you love is a thoughtfully designed three-part workshop series of 90 minute session aimed at helping participants uncover the wisdom within their lived experience and transform it into meaningful narrative writing to share with future generations.
Drawing inspiration from the life dictionary concept outlined in Beverley’s book, In Your Own Words: Unlock the power of your life stories to influence, inspire and build trust (2024), the programme invites you to reflect on the defining moments, themes and lessons of your life and shape these into short, engaging pieces of legacy writing.
This is not traditional memoir writing focused on chronology, nor a creative writing class focusing on literary perfection. Instead, the workshops centre on meaning, reflection, storytelling, personal voice and the wisdom you want to pass on.
The sessions are designed to be warm, accessible and highly interactive, making them suitable for both experienced writers and complete beginners. As an experienced trainer and facilitator, Beverley excels in creating a nurturing space in which participants feel held and safe to share personal experiences with a small group.
Programme aims
The series is designed to help participants:
- reflect on the experiences that have shaped them
- identify the values and lessons woven through their lives
- build confidence in personal storytelling
- transform memories into meaningful narrative pieces
- create a collection of life lessons or reflections to share with others
- develop a tangible written legacy for future generations
Beverley Glick - the joy of storytelling
Beverley Glick has immersed herself in the art of storytelling for more than 40 years. From interviewing rock stars and editing pop magazines to shaping features and commentary for national newspapers including The Observer and The Sunday Telegraph, she has always been fascinated by the stories people tell - as well as the ones they struggle to tell.
That fascination now sits at the heart of her work as a developmental editor and leadership communications coach. Drawing on decades of editorial expertise, alongside a finely tuned intuition for what makes a voice authentic, she helps authors and speakers turn experience into insight and ideas into compelling narratives.
