An Evening with personal stylist Emma Trotman & Olenka Lawrenson interiors 'Styling Yourself & Your Home This Christmas'

An inspirational and informal evening about how to style yourself and your home this Christmas with an alternative take and avoiding the cliches. Hosted by personal stylist Emma Trotman and interior designer Olenka Lawrenson.

1.5hr talk and conversation £25 per person

A lot of Christmases are assembled from the same box, in the same red, green and gold, with the same sequins and repeated every year. Yawn! This talk helps each guest develop their individual Christmas style: a new considered palette and fresh festive decorating ideas.

Emma covers dressing for Christmas: choosing your colours, texture (velvet, satin, wool), and adding a touch of fun. Don’t default to sequins – there's so much more you can wear!

Olenka takes the styling into the home, with suggestions of what you can do with your tree, table, wrapping, mantel, foil and ribbon garlands, paper chains. Instead of getting Christmas stuck on repeat, each year gets a small change: a new accent colour, a new handmade piece. Over the years you build a collection with a story, not a storage box of identical decorations.

Emma has always been obsessed with clothes, a passion she inherited from her mum.She spent her career in advertising, learning to trust her instincts when evaluating the mood in a room, how to win clients' trust and what creative work will be successful. Slightly tangential though this sounds, these skills have proved very useful in the world of styling.

Emma took styling courses at the London College of Fashion before launching her own business, Emma Trotman Stylist, two years ago.  The focal point of her offering is helping people rediscover their joy in clothes. She quickly determines what will suit a client, in terms of colour, shape and style and works with people to redefine their own joyful style, starting with the clothes in their own wardrobe. 

Olenka has been interiors-obsessed for as long as she can remember – turning shoeboxes into miniature rooms and rearranging furniture at every opportunity. After 15 years building brands at some of London's leading creative agencies, she studied interior design before joining the founding team at Create Academy. There she built a community of creative experts, developing courses alongside celebrated designers and artists including Nina Campbell, Rita Konig, Maria Speake and Tess Newall.

A firm believer that the best homes are full of character and never too perfect, Olenka now brings her love of colour, pattern and the unexpected to residential interiors, helping people create spaces that feel joyful, comfortable and deeply personal.
