The beautiful 60-acre estate at Buzzards Valley,  located south of Tamworth, Staffordshire, in the Canwell Valley, offers meadows, hedgerows, ancient woodland, coniferous plantation and waterways to be explored on a foraging course.

Buzzards Valley is family run and the estate includes a vineyard, winery, gin distillery, shop (selling all manner of yummy things), bistro, fishing lakes, and dried flower and home inspiration wholesale. So, there's plenty to do before and after the course if you want to make a day of it!

This foraging course walk venue is easy to get to from Tamworth, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Burton-upon-Trent, Derby, Cannock, Coventry and Stoke. It has excellent motorway links being centrally located with easy M6, M42 and M6 Toll.

​The course includes:
- an overview of foraging laws and safety
- exploration of the local species
- introduction to a number of edible species 
- instruction on how to tell edible species apart from poisonous lookalikes
- tips on harvesting
- information on where to find these species again
- recipe ideas
- wild food treats to sample
- digital information sheet after the course

Samples of tasty wild food treats can include soups, pestos, salts, pickles, syrups, cordials, jams, jellies, leathers, vinegars, and preserves, along the way. All are 100% plant/fungi-based or have a 100% plant/fungi-based alternative

Participants must be aged 18 or over - sorry, no children under 18 or babes in arms on this course.

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted on the course

We cannot guarantee what wild edibles will be growing on our courses, such is the nature of foraging. However, as a rough guide of the seasons, spring is usually predominantly plants and perhaps some mushrooms; summer is usually plants, fruits and perhaps some mushrooms, and autumn is usually predominantly mushrooms with some plants, fruits and nuts
