What better way to forget the February blues but with a circus-themed day party. As I get older staying up all night clubbing is getting harder and harder so I absolutely adore a day party. Cirque de Fox will be all the fun of a Fox Den party but you get to be in bed before midnight (or continue to a sexy afterparty.) We canvassed the membership last year to float the idea of a day party and it was overwhelmingly popular so we delivered a sold out Summer Day Party and now we return. 😍

I have wanted to run a circus-themed party for years. Fun fact about me: in one of my many previous careers I used to manage performing arts companies including contemporary circus companies. Still to this day, it remains one of my favourite art forms.

Circus can be dated to very early history, starting with the exhibiting of exotic animals from conquered distant lands in ancient Egypt. Exhibiting of the animals continued as the masses demanded more exciting events as displayed at the Circus Maximus and the Coliseum in Rome. The very early days of human Circus also came at this time with the bareback riders and chariot races. Interestingly, the first recognised Circus was established here in the UK by Philip Astley at Ha’Penny Hatch, Lambeth in 1768. It started with exhibitions of riding but Astley soon recognised that his performance lacked variety so he introduced tumbling, slack wire and clowns - all elements of modern circus today.

So come join Ringmaster Foxy and her troupe of wonderful performers and characters as we run away to the circus together.

NOTE: Tickets are strictly limited for this party. We will be releasing them in batches so do grab them while they are on sale. We have tried to keep the ticket price as affordable as possible for members but this is an expensive party as we need to bring in everything to this blank canvas space. We have also decided not to run a bar but to let members BYO to keep the cost of attending low. We have  the perfect space for Cirque de Fox: a spacious and light-filled warehouse space with two levels and multiple rooms. We have our own dedicated entrance where you will be greeted by Foxy and our friendly Door Vixens. Coming in from the street we will have a large kitchen, bar and seating area to grab a drink and socialise. Moving down the space we will have our dancefloor and performance area.

The Green Room will be a dedicated quieter space for connecting with other members and taking a break. The Metal Room will be our Dark Room and Dungeon with furniture from Filthy Furniture. Head upstairs to our Playroom with platform beds.

We have two very talented DJs going back to back for six hours. Sharing their love of electronic music, Alexandra & Kai have been playing together for the past two years at events from London to Cape Town, as well as at several festivals, including Psy-Boutique, Turkey; Noisily, Secret Garden Party, and Kimberfest. Based in London, the duo have a passion for melodic techno and deep house. Together, they bring great dynamic and infectious enthusiasm; all of which is reflected in the crowds they play for.

Kai started as a promoter and DJ on the Brixton club scene 15 years ago, and has since played in Ibiza, as well as at Pacha and Egg, at festivals including Noisily, Psy Boutique, and Kimberfest and at events hosted by Fox & Badge, Malice, and Take it Further. Kai combines the precision of his German ancestry with the romance of his birthplace, South Africa, into sets that leave an impression long after the night has passed. Alexandra has been DJing for just a couple of years. In that time, she has played in Frankfurt, and at events in London, ranging from Fox & Badge’s Underground Masquerade, Circus of Desire and MadMaxx, to a private party in a royal residence. When not indulging her love of music, Alexandra is an independent publisher of award-winning books on design, science and nature - all of which weave their way into the music that she loves to play.

The theme and dress code for the party will be Circus. (Check out the Pinterest board for ideas.)

Last entry strictly at 5.30pm.
Carriages at 10pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can no longer attend. Can I get a refund?

Tickets are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. However, we will offer a ticket refund via Paypal credit/voucher if you let us know 7 days (Friday 31 January, close of business) before the event. (Within 7 days of the event, the normal policy below applies.)

If the event sells out, you are welcome to sell your ticket to another member via The Fox Den member's private Facebook group. Name changes must be received BEFORE 1pm on the day BEFORE the event (Friday) to allow for the door list to be updated, otherwise ticket will be void. Testing positive for Covid is not grounds for a refund. Please do not book a ticket if you do not want to accept these terms of sale, thank you.

I’m not a member, can I buy a ticket?

In short, no. Fox Den events with play spaces are only open to registered members. This is to ensure that all guests attending a play event have signed up to The Fox Den Code of Conduct providing a respectful and safe environment for everyone. You will need to supply your membership number as part of the ticket buying process. You can apply for free membership here.

Please note that each guest MUST be a vetted member with their own membership number. Please do not buy a ticket for a 'guest' as their ticket will be invalid and voided.

When can I know the address of the venue?

Guests will be emailed all the details of the party one week in advance. The venue is less than 15 minutes walk from Hackney Central Overground if you need to book hotels / arrange transport.

What do I need to bring to get in?

Entry is only possible with your personalised ticket and photo ID. This will be cross checked with our membership list. If there isn't a photographic match, there will be no entry. Entry is always at the management’s discretion. 

Do I have to dress up?

In short, yes. Fox Den play parties have a strict dress code that must be adhered to. You are welcome to come in regular clothes and change at the venue. Guests who do not adhere to the dress code will be refused entry with no refund.
