Moth light trapping and identification

Saturday 4th July, 9:30am – 11:30am

Join us for a hands-on morning at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, getting up close with some of the night's most overlooked visitors.

The light trap will have been set the night before, and in the morning we'll open it up together to see what's been drawn in. With expert guidance and field guides, you'll learn how to identify the species we've caught before they're released back into the park.

No experience needed - just curiosity.

Please read as much as possible before booking.

This will be an indoor event so wear whatever you find comfortable. Hot drinks, water, and morning pastries will be provided. A maximum of 20 participants will be attending. Spaces book up quickly, but it's worth joining the waiting list as people do cancel.

Meeting point: The Soanes Centre, the painted flat-roofed building behind the black metal railings on your right as you enter via the main gates on Southern Grove E3 4PX.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO BOOK

  1. If you travel by bike, we can’t offer indoor storage, but you are able to lock your bike up on the bike racks outside the Cemetery Park Lodge.
