Join Jaymie Tapsell, MA Folklore Studies graduate, as she talks about the traditional and customary aspects of London’s’ East End. The talk will explore some classic examples of East End folklore, such as the Cockney funeral, Pearly Kings & Queens, the Bow Bun Day, Pram Racing, and more. The talk will also examine and celebrate multiculturalism in the East End by revealing how migration to the area has shaped and influenced the local folklore by looking at food, dress, poetry, and song.
