Queer Ecologies - Ama Josephine Budge, Linden K McMahon and Hari Byles
What are ecologies and how are they queer? How are queer ecologies fun, miraculous, surprising, sexy, affirming and genius examples of life all around us adapting and living with us and everything else?
Join our new Artists in Residence, Queer Ecologies collective, as they share some oozy, funny and surprising stories from their work and research practices. They will also discuss some of their plans for the year ahead and reflections on Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park so far. Queer Ecologies would love to hear about your experiences and reflections on what you think a queer ecology is, or could be, so please feel free to bring examples to share.
Queer Ecologies is a collaboration between Ama Josephine Budge; Linden K McMahon, and Hari Byles. Together they hope to explore and tell new stories about interdependency, kin & care in the face of climate change (or what we call climate colonialism), for as feminist science fiction writer and essayist Ursula K. Le Guin writes: ‘It is the story that makes the difference [...] Hence it is with a certain feeling of urgency that I seek the nature, subject, words of the other story, the untold one, the life story.’
*These online talks are not delivered in Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. Because of government restrictions we are delivering them from our homes using Zoom.*
