When booking you are signing up for four days (31st May, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd June 2022). This is so that we can restrict and control the mixing of different children and keep them in 'bubbles'. Even if your child is only able to attend one day you are paying for four days - we cannot offer a pay as go service currently, as we have done in previous years.
For more information and to view our Covid-19 Policy.
Forest School Covid -19 Guidance Notes for Parents and Carers can be viewed here.
We would ask that before attending each day that participants do a Lateral Flow Test. If the result is positive please follow government guidance here.
We are adhering to Government guidance for holiday clubs and all guidance relating to COVID-19 at all times. We expect all participating families and children to follow these guidelines also. Please read the Government’s specific guidance for parents/carers relating to holiday clubs here.
• Only one holiday club – “You should consider sending your child to the same setting consistently, in order to prevent your child from mixing with multiple different groups of children”
• Local where possible – “You are advised to choose settings that are local to you”
• Travel arrangements – “where possible, parents, carers and children are encouraged to walk or cycle to the setting or to use a private vehicle. If you are using a private vehicle to take your child to an activity, you should avoid using it to take other children from outside your household to the same activity even if they are in the same small, consistent group. You are also encouraged to avoid using public transport to get to activities, particularly during peak times.”
We have chosen to operate in small groups, with a maximum of 15 children in each group . We will be operating with one group for four days, which we will be calling a bubble, and each bubble will have its own equipment and resources.
We would like to reassure everybody that we will be following the Forest School ethos wherever possible, by providing child-led sessions in an outdoor environment and facilitating a wide range of Forest School and bushcraft activities.
The children will have a choice of activities and games to join in with, and there will still be plenty of opportunities for free play and relaxation. They can still take part in their favourite Forest School activities.
Forest Schools are always run by a qualified practitioner (Level 3 or above) who is experienced in working with children in an outdoor environment. Kenneth Greenway (Cemetery Park Manager) leads Forest School at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, with support from team members and other qualified Forest School practitioners. All staff are DBS checked.
