After the success of our first Seedfest, we're having another one!

Join us on the autumn equinox to reconnect as a seed network, share updates and inspiration, and learn together. This is an event for those involved in the open pollinated vegetable and grain seed networks in Scotland. If you are a commercial or community grower producing OP seed, have been involved in the Seed Sovereignty Programme training and events, or are involved in the Common Grain network as a grower, farmer, miller, or baker, or you are a researcher working to support this network, then this event is for you!

We'll meet at Inchindown Farm, a testing ground for diverse grains. The day will include updates from the network, tours of Inchindown Farm and the nearby Seeds of Scotland, workshops, equipment demos and more. Lunch and dinner will be provided. Camping is available on-site for those travelling from farther afield.

Sessions:

  • Network updates
  • Tour of Inchindown Farm grains, mill, and bakery
  • Tour of Seeds of Scotland
  • Bere barley tasting
  • Grain Train: spotlight on Scottish grains
  • Crowd Breeding: Increasing Diversity in our Veg Seed
  • Processing equipment demo

The event is a collaboration between the Seed Sovereignty Programme and Common Grains. The costs are being covered by the Seed Sovereignty Programme, but donations to support the cost of the event and ongoing work of the network are much appreciated.

If you have any questions about the event or who the intended audience is, please email Sinéad Fortune at sinead@gaianet.org. Please note this event is not suitable for children.
