This day-long event is an opportunity for you to meet with other members of the Scottish Seed Sovereignty Network, find out what they are up to, get involved in existing projects and plan new ones, and build momentum in the network! 🌱

The Scottish Seed Network welcomes anyone who is saving seeds, already involved in our Seed Sovereignty Programme, or simply interested in getting started.

We will have a range of workshops and activities throughout the day including:

🌾Field walks around the beautiful grain and veg fields and gardens within the Newton Dee Camphill Community.

🫘Strategies for seed sharing in community

🥬Super fun grain tasting and lettuce showcase that you can get involved in! See more details on the lettuce showcase below.

🧑‍🌾Lots of time for chatting, networking and planning with new seed sov friends!

We are so happy that the seed fest will take place at Newton Dee Camphill Community. 😍

They are doing so many interesting things across both the veg and grain world, saving lots of seed and trialling new agro-ecological techniques. You will be able to sample the delights of their produce in a lovely lunch provided including lots of their own produce. 😋

🥬Lettuce showcase 🥬

Taking inspiration from the Variety Showcases, and regional food celebrations  put on by the Culinary Breeding Network we have decided to put on our own celebration of the humble lettuce.

There are so many different varieties with different appearances, tastes, growth habits, strengths and weaknesses that we thought it would be a good idea to bring together our favourites and judge ‘em!

All you have to do is bring a head or two of your favourite lettuce variety that you have grown this year and we will discuss, admire and judge them together! confirm your interest in participating as you check out your tickets and we will send more info closer to the time.  🌱
