Agroecology & Seed Systems with Debal Deb

Join us for a special evening in conversation as Dr. Deb shares his pioneering work in agroecology and seed sovereignty. With over 1,400 traditional rice varieties conserved and cultivated through farmer-led networks, his efforts are a global model for in situ conservation and climate-resilient farming and preserving biocultural diversity.

Dr. Deb will be joined by Josiah Meldrum of Hodmedod’s and Dr. Oliver Springate-Baginski from UEA for a dynamic discussion on revitalising grain systems in East Anglia, and how local action can help transform our food systems from the ground up.

The talk will take place from 6-8pm at the University of East Anglia’s Business Enterprise Centre (NR4 7TJ), Debal will be joined by Hodmedods, Barleybird, The Gaia Foundation’s Seed Sovereignty Programme, and The University of East Anglia.
