Need help?
Looking forward to visiting Trill Farm Garden with you this year, Ash is super knowledgeable and we'll be spending the day mostly doing practical things such as doing crop selection, seeing how they integrate seed crops in their market garden system, and trying out a few low-tech seed processing methods
If you are not able to make it, please do email me!
On the day we'll be covering:
- How we cultivate seed crops alongside vegetable crops
- How we manage our workload and balance the needs of a diverse range of crops
- How to select crops in the field
- Use our low-tech seed cleaning equipment
- Seed production budget and turn over
Here are the details for travel details for the day:
Information on getting to Trill Farm Garden
Please read the following information carefully, even if you are a regular visitor to the farm, as some things may have changed. New owners, came to the farm in 2021 and they are happy for us to continue running courses here, but we ask that you respect their privacy and do not wander about the farm before or after the course or during breaks. You are of course welcome to wander about the veg garden as much as you like.
The course will be taught by Ashley Wheeler from Trill Farm Garden.
Please arrive between 10.30-10.45am, ready to start at 11am.
We will be working both indoors and outdoors, and prioritising outdoors wherever possible.
What to bring
As the course will be taught mainly outside, please bring waterproofs, wellies/boots, suncream and plenty of layers.
You might like to bring a notepad and pencil for making notes. Please bring a refillable water bottle and a keepcup/travel mug if you would like tea or coffee.
Please do not bring dogs to the farm.
Meals
Please bring your own lunch. We will provide teas, coffees and refreshments.
Arrivals
Please arrive between 10-10.15am, ready to start at 10.30am.
On arrival, please park at the top of the new field, which will be clearly signposted. When you turn into the farm, follow the track down until you see a gate in front of you, bear left to continue following the track and the field is immediately on your left. Park at the top of this field.
Make your way down to the market garden through the field (you will see a gate at the bottom of the field and you will go over a small bridge that crosses a stream). Make your way to the barn on the far side of the twinspan tunnel in the far right corner of the market garden and we will be gathered there.
Train
closest train station is Axminster. Use the WhatsApp group to organise a shared taxi, or someone that could pick you up!
