Join us for a day of oat talks and exploration.
Hosted by the Llafur Ni network, part of the Gaia Foundation's Seed Sovereignty Programme.
12noon: soup and introductions
1pm: Welsh oat history; hear tales of the place oats have held in our farming practices and culture with Owen Sheirs
1.45pm: Restoration of the Blaenpennal Oat Mill; hear about this work to restore a heritage oat mill and the process of oat milling with Andrew Findon
2.30pm: Ty Gwennol Oat Milk; hear about growing and producing oat milk as a small sustainable enterprise with Wyc and Silvie
3.30pm: Meeting of the Llafur Ni network - those interested in joining the network are welcome
This day will focus on small scale production of rare and underutilised oats in Wales. This is aimed at people who want to know more about the Llafur Ni network and our work to preserve rare oats.
General admission tickets cover the costs of venue hire, speaker expenses and lunch.
We are also able to offer a limited number of subsidised tickets for those who need them, please select these at checkout if you need them.
If you are unable to afford a subsidised ticket, we can offer a limited number of full bursary tickets. Please contact katie@gaianet.org for an access code.
