LOVE YOUR TRANS SELF
Mon Apr 8, 2024 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM PDT
Online, Zoom
Description
Transness* is a gift. But every trans person I know is struggling.
(*Please note: These workshops are open to all gender expansive people including trans, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfucking, and gender expansive folks of all identities. I use "trans" in the broadest umbrella sense to mean all identities that are something beyond cisgender.)
2024 is not an easy time to be trans. Most of us are struggling, and we need a variety of forms of support and resources in order to move through the challenges of this time. But in a culture built on capitalism and white supremacy, most of us have no idea how to resource ourselves, or to love ourselves as a verb. Most of us are thoroughly, deeply socialized into overwork. We are not equipped with skill sets of rest, tending to our bodies, tuning into our own energies, or of showing our whole selves deep care. The good news? Skill sets can be built with time and effort.
In "LOVE YOUR TRANS SELF," we will focus specifically on cultivating self love - a challenge for many of us! Although I offered this workshop last year, this version will be more tightly focused on gendered experiences, such as loving yourself when dysphoria looms large, or when your internalized transphobia hits, and especially loving yourself through the 2024 election cycle. Again we will focus on exercises and processes by which you can build up your self love, with the understanding that this is a skill set, and it will take time, effort, and practice to develop it well. (See agenda below for specifics)

These workshops are experiential, meaning that they will not be all instruction - there will be active participation. However, all of my classes are grounded deeply in consent, and you will never be required to participate in a way that doesn't feel good to you. Camera on or off, talking out loud or in the chat, and if there are breakout rooms, you will be empowered to opt out if desired. We will resource and love our trans selves first by honoring our own yes and no!

All attendees will receive a PDF workbook with the exercises from the workshop, as well as the opportunity to download the recording.

About the Format & Price:
These workshops were developed together, and my preference would be for folks to take both. Therefore, I am offering a discount for those who buy one to purchase the other. However, you can choose to take them separately as well. If you purchase one, you will get the discount code for the other. As always, I have a sliding scale for these offerings. A sliding scale is a tool for economic justice and accessibility, not a discount. If you aren't sure where you land on the sliding scale, you can compare your financial situation to this graphic.
The full price of each workshop is $77. Those with financial abundance are encouraged to pay $98, and those who can not afford the full price are invited to pay $44.
If you purchase one workshop, you can get a discount on the other. If you purchase one workshop, the discount code for the other will be included in the confirmation page.
Scholarships:
Scholarships are available by request on a first come, first served basis with priority to Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. If you are white, please let me know and I will add you to the waitlist. If you would like a scholarship, email me: hello@thegenderdoula.com. I do not need to know any details about your identity (with the exception of if you're white), financial situation, etc. Just let me know that you need a scholarship and if one is available, I will give you a code for it.
