Looking for something to do on a Saturday night, but don’t have anyone to go with yet?

Come to our second Community Girls’ Night; a relaxed, welcoming evening for women in York who want to get out, meet new people and become part of a community.

And yes, you can absolutely come alone. In fact, we expect lots of people to.

What is Community Girls’ Night?

We’re creating a regular night where women can come back again and again, recognise familiar faces, meet new people and gradually build genuine friendships.

This isn’t a formal networking event, a speed-friending night or a night where you’ll be forced to introduce yourself to a room full of strangers.

It’s simply a chance to get dressed up, have a Saturday night drink and spend time around other women who are also looking to meet people and be part of something.

There’ll be plenty of opportunities to chat, mingle and make connections throughout the evening, with a relaxed atmosphere designed to make meeting new people feel as natural as possible. Whether you are coming alone, or with a friend, you are welcome. We know that some people may be starting from scratch, and others might have a friend but want to build a bigger friendship group.

We know that one of the hardest parts of making new friends is actually taking that first step and turning up somewhere alone.

You might be nervous when you walk through the door and that’s completely normal. You won’t be the only one.

The whole idea behind The Girls’ Club is to create a space where you can come along without already having a friendship group, start recognising familiar faces and gradually feel more at home.

You don’t need to be super confident, outgoing or particularly good at making conversation. Just come as you are.

What to wear (because we know how much we fret about this)

Saturday night drinks - dressy, but make it YOU.

Think jeans and a nice top, heels if you fancy them, cute dresses, your favourite going-out outfit, whatever makes you feel confident, comfortable and fierce. We want you to have an opportunity to wear the outfit that you might not usually get to and get a chance to dress up.

There’s no strict dress code (seriously, just wear what you want). We just want you to feel like the best version of yourself.

Your ticket gets you entry to the event. Drinks are not included, but the bar will be open throughout the evening so you can grab whatever you fancy. There is no pressure to drink any alcohol, but if you want to, don't feel like you need to hold back.

There’ll be no awkward activities or forced icebreakers, just plenty of opportunities to meet people, chat, laugh and enjoy a Saturday night with a room full of women who are there for the same reason.

Whether you’ve been to a Girls’ Club event before or this is your first one, you’re welcome here.

Come alone. Come with a friend. Come knowing nobody.

You don’t have to make a best friend on the night.

You just have to show up.

You might leave with a new Instagram follower, someone to grab a coffee with, a new friend, or simply the feeling that York feels a little bit more like your place.
