About NDPI

The National Diversity Practitioners Institute (NDPI) is a 3-day, in-person intensive designed for educators and leaders who want to sharpen their skills and deepen their practice in creating equitable, just, and inclusive school communities where all members feel a sense of belonging.

Led by long-tenured school administrators and nationally recognized diversity practitioners, this highly interactive institute offers a balance of skill-building, strategic planning, and reflective practice, all within a supportive community of peers. Participants are expected to be fully present for the entire program.

Program Schedule

  • Dates: June 22, 23, and 24, 2026

  • Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST each day

  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included with registration

  • Closing Reception: Evening of June 24

Participants booking the lodging package are encouraged to arrive June 21 and depart June 25. Lodging packages include a single hotel room at The Bolger Center for June 21–25.

Who Should Attend?

While many participants are diversity directors, NDPI is intended for anyone with responsibilities for advancing equity and justice in their schools. Past cohorts have included several roles, such as:

  • Diversity directors and coordinators

  • Deans

  • Admissions directors

  • Teachers

  • Deans of teaching and learning

  • Curriculum coordinators

  • Division heads

  • Development directors

  • Assistant heads of school

  • Heads of school

The program includes:

  • A framework for equity and justice best practices

  • Skill building for effective leadership, including facilitation, change management, and strategic planning

  • Tools for personal exploration and growth based in identity development

  • Guided planning time with support from institute faculty

  • A formal year-long mentoring and support program

  • Opportunities for networking and resource sharing

Location & Travel

  • Venue: The Bolger Center, Potomac, MD

  • Airports: BWI (Baltimore/Washington) and DCA (Reagan National) are the closest airports.

  • Lodging: Registration with lodging includes a private room for June 21–25.

Refund & Transfer Policy

  • 50% refundable through March 16, 2026

  • After March 16, registration is non-refundable, but may be:

    • Transferred to another participant, or

    • Deferred to the 2027 institute
