HEADLINER Jean Paul

Trinidadian-born comedian Jean Paul has always had an innate sense of humour. Maybe it’s because of his curious nature; maybe it’s because of his light-hearted view on life. Whatever the reason, Jean knew at an early age that a career in comedy was right for him. Since then, Jean has travelled extensively across Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, South Africa and the U.K., performing at such legendary venues as the Apollo in New York, the Comedy Store in London, and at Place des Arts in Montreal’s Just For Laughs Gala 2013.

Jean has also been nominated for several prestigious awards, including the Tim Sims’ Award for up-and-coming comedians, and a Gemini Award for Best Writing in a Comedy Series.

He has also proven his talent on TV and film. He has conquered television as a correspondent on Phat TV, portrayed a wide assortment of characters in the CBC special Thick and Thin, appeared multiple times as a guest on the CBC’s Strombo Show and on CTV’s A Russell Peters Christmas Special. He also played the popular Fluff E the Hip-Hop Bunny on the Comedy Network’s Buzz Show, and is proud to be featured in two films this year, Home Again and A Universal Language, both premiering in 2013.

EMCEE DK Phan

DK Phan is a Canadian Vietnamese standup comedian based in Toronto. He started in 2010 at the Second City Training Centre, where he studied stand-up, improv, and acting. He has performed all across North America, including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, New York, and LA.

DK graces the stage with an amicable demeanour that puts you at ease, delivering relatable writing with a subtle edge. His acute observations come off clean but are by no means friendly. His relatable and down-to-earth style has earned him time on Rogers TV and a gala taping for CBC's Winnipeg Comedy Festival.

FEATURING Matt Render

Matt Render is a talented comedian from Toronto, renowned for his unique mix of storytelling, observational humour, and dark comedy. He's brought laughter to audiences at comedy clubs all across Canada and has also been featured on SiriusXM and at the Toronto Fringe Festival. His performances are always engaging and memorable, making him a favourite among comedy fans.
