History Through the Ages at Sheffield Manor Lodge

On Sunday 6 September, step back in time and see history come to life from across the ages!

Meet the reenactors:

Suðrjórvík

Suðrjórvík portray life in early medieval times, which includes peoples known as Saxons, Vikings and Normans.

Escafeld Mediaeval Society

The Escafeld Mediaeval Society portray life in the thirteenth century and reenact displays of combat and archery.

Newcastle’s Foote

Newcastle’s Foote portray life in the seventeenth century and reenact battles that took place throughout the English Civil War.

Coldstream Guards

The Coldstream Guards portray the life and experiences of British Napoleonic soldiers during the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.

Ragged Victorians

The Ragged Victorians portray the lives of lower-class people in the nineteenth century.

Doncaster Waites

Listen to music from the early 1600s performed by the Doncaster Waites.

Mary, Queen of Scots

Meet Mary, Queen of Scots and her ladies-in-waiting.

The address for Sheffield Manor Lodge is 197 Manor Lane, Sheffield, S2 1UJ.

There is free onsite parking at Sheffield Manor Lodge and additional parking down the road at Manor Oaks House.

Please note parking is on a strictly limited, first-come-first-served basis. As a result, we encourage visitors to use alternative methods of transport where possible. Roadside parking is also available, however please park respectfully.

Where can I eat?

Bradway Quality Meats will be providing barbecue food on the day. There will also be stall selling sweet treats and cakes.

Drinks, snacks and ice creams are available to buy at the Discovery Centre. You’re very welcome to have a picnic in our grounds, but please dispose of any litter.

The Rhubarb Shed Café down the road will be open from 10am, however we strongly recommend booking a table in advance as it can get very busy. You can book a table by calling 07375 366 429.

Are dogs allowed?

We welcome assistance dogs only.
