Half Term Writing Club @ Forest Hill Library

Love writing? Are you 8–13 years old? Join teacher, writer and PhD researcher Anna Dempsey for a fun 4-day camp where you’ll create your own awesome story! You’ll learn how to build exciting plots, dream up unforgettable characters, and write dialogue that sparkles (or that frightends if you go for a Halloween theme). This isn’t school...it’s your world, and every idea is welcome and I'm here to help you put it onto the page!

27 Oct: Find Your Story & SHAMPOO (aka literary devices)
28 Oct: Characters We Root For and Plot, Plot, Plot
29 Oct: NO CLASS
30 Oct: Snappy, Silly Dialogue and Voice
31 Oct: 🎃Finishing Touches, Author Presentations & Costume Party🎃

Each day includes guided lessons, writing time, sharing, and feedback. By the end, you’ll have a finished story and personalised feedback to help build and widen your creative world!

Whether you’re new to writing or already a word wizard, this camp is for anyone who loves stories and wants to write their own.

Materials are included, all you need to bring is a snack & water bottle!
